    • Málaga, , the „City of Paradise" as the 1977 Nobel Price Winner fo literature, Vicente Alexandre called it, is the capital of the Costa del Sol, which enjoys a mild climate throughout the year. A historical city, founded 2000 years ago, nowadays Málaga is a cosmopolitan city rather then a touristic one, and keeps the identity of an Andalusian city, with friendly and open people.

    Málaga is situated in the center of Andalusia; therefore the rest of Andalusian villages and cities (Granade, Sevilla, Cordobe, Ronda, etc.), as well as Gibraltar and Marocco, are within easy reach.

    Situation of the School

    The School is situated in a pedestrian street right in the ancient centre of Málaga in a quiet area adjacent to the central shopping area, surrounded by many bars, restaurants, cinemas and theatres, and only 10 minutes by bus from the beach.

    The Staff

    We are a team of young teachers with university degrees and wide experience in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language, who offer a kind of teaching based upon the most modern methods and shift the traditional teacher-pupil relationship into a more friendly one.

    All of us, the teachers and the secretary (who speaks Spanish, English and German) will be allways at your disposal to offer any help you may need during your stay at the ESCUELA MEDITERRANEO.

    General Lenguage Courses

    Your studies will cover all aspects of the language: listening, speaking, reading and writing. We have fixed a limit of 8 students per class so that we are able to follow closely the progress of each student. The courses are structured in four levels. A comlete course last 16 weeks (4 hours a day), from the beginners level up to the superior one. However you may enter at any level and take as many weeks as you wish. There are also special courses available, like commercial Spanish Course witch is the ideal preparation for the Official Commercial Spanish Examination held by the Chamber of Commerce in Madrid. Another opportunity is our Hispanic Studies Course which include Literature, Art, History, Geography, Contemporary, Politics and Culture.

    Accommodation

    We offer two possibilities of accommodation:

  • 1. in flats to be shared by several students (single- or double room), where you can use the kitchen and the living room, all shared with the rest of the flatmates.
  • 2. in carefully selected families, in which the student is provided with a sinle or double room and half board. We can also provide information on other accommidation alternatives such as hotels etc.

    • Activities

    We think a language course should consist of something more than just lessons. For this reason the ESCUELA MEDITERRANEO organizes a series of activities. At our parties the students can practise their Spanish in a relaxed way, in a friendly atmosphere, and get in contact with other fellow-students and Spanish people

    We also organise tours through some of the most typical bars of Málaga.

    Our programme is completed with some visits to the museums and monuments of Málaga, and for the night sometimes we go with the students to the cinema, concerts or the theatre. Also we organise excursions to other cities, like Granada (with the beautifull Alhambra), Cordoba and Sevilla, or Marocco at the other side of the Mediterranean sea) .

    The most beautifull beaches with Cafés and Restaurants are situated only 10 stationes by bus from the center of the City where you also can swimm or surf.
